Visual Storytelling

Hana Pua McEvilly is a Hawaiian artist whose practice blends painting and kapa textile (traditional Hawai'ian barkcloth) into a visual language rooted in nature, ancestry, and healing. A graduate of the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa with a BFA in Painting (2022), her work often distorts proportions, bends perspective, and incorporates symbols and sacred geometry to explore the interconnectedness of all living things. McEvilly’s art reflects traditional Hawaiian Philosophy by honoring a deep commitment to sustainability, using natural pigments, recycled materials, and eco-conscious methods. Through exhibitions, performative art, and collaborative projects, she seeks to inspire reflection, cultural connection, and environmental stewardship, honoring the wisdom of her Hawaiian heritage while engaging with contemporary storytelling.
